Accents & Idioms or "Separated by a Common Language" Program - New Zealand

Film screening of Deadly Ponies Gang (2013), directed by Zoe McIntosh (63min) (New Zealand)

Post screening discussion led by Dr. Bethany Wiggin, Associate Professor of German, Director of Penn Program in Environmental Humanities and Topic Director for PHF Translation.

Hip hop culture has been claimed around the world and translated into many hyper-local contexts. In this hilarious “documentary” taking place at Christmastime, Clint goes on a mission to get some teeth for his mate Wayne, with the help of rapper "The Rhymestone Cowboy" and others in rural New Zealand.

[Note: This is a Christmas-themed show but not great for young children due to language and brief nudity.]

Free with General Admission to the Penn Museum
