Seeds of Change Kickoff Eco-Science Social! Part science fair, part happy hour, don't miss an evening of short environmental talks by Penn experts, zero-waste snacks, an open house of the CAAM (Center for the Analysis of Archaeological Materials) Lab at the Penn Museum, plus a powerful poetry reading and book signing by Joy Harjo, the first Native American named U.S. Poet Laureate. A member of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation, Joy Harjo is an internationally renowned performer and author of nine books of poetry, several plays and children’s books, and two memoirs—“Crazy Brave” and “Poet Warrior.” Experience how poetry can challenge our ecological present and forecast our future through a celebrated visionary, healer, and guide. A book signing opportunity will also be available.
