Video in the Villages (Video Nas Aldeias) is an indigenous media collective in the Amazonian region of Brazil, whose films provide an interior view of the cultural life of many of the region's tribes. This special screening presents a selection of the group's short films, selected by Elizabeth Weatherford, Curator of Film and Video at the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian. After the screening, Ms. Weatherford leads a discussion on indigenous media and recent developments in the native filmmaking world. Sponsored by CAMRA at Penn and the Annenberg School of Communication. Free admission.
