Opening and Celebration for Native American North American Gallery at the Penn Museum

The Penn Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology on the University of Pennsylvania campus has announced the opening of their newly curated and installed gallery of Native North American cultures and traditions. The new gallery in on the Main Floor of the Museum, to the left of the Main Entrance. Showcasing more than 250 items from the Penn Museum’s North American collections alongside contemporary Native art pieces, this 2,000-sq.-ft. interactive exhibition, developed in partnership with eight Indigenous consulting curators, will share complex histories and living relationships of Indigenous peoples to their ancestral homelands. In addition to private ceremonies and parties, the public is invited to visit the exhibit starting November 22, and to join guided tours of the exhibits on weekends through December. This permenant exhibit will be a resource for Penn students and community members as well as the public. Museum Hours are 10 AM to 5 pm Tuesday through Sunday.
